Checked/tested and OK; -MAF sensor (electrics and sensor ok) -Vacuum hoses (manually pulled a vacuum and it holds, pressure on main line at 20mmHG) -turbo hoses not leaking, good seals. -EGR electrics as spec. -N75 solenoid recently replaced (previous ‘moo’ issue. -Air Intake Manifold, Throttle body and EGR valve all cleaned.
It comes from the outlet of the EGR valve. The EGR valve controls the amount of exhaust gas flowing (recirculating) from the exhaust manifold to the inlet manifold. On the 2.2 engine this valve contains an electronically controlled servomotor and gear train to control the internal flap.
The EGR valve on these vehicles is designed to redirect a portion of the vehicles exhaust gases back to the engine through the intake manifold. Carbon rich recirculated exhaust gasses enter the EGR valve before the intake manifold, over time Carbon deposits gather in the EGR valve and can interfere with the operation of the EGR valve flap and
Clogged intake. All the crud that came out of the EGR. I had to clean the vanes on my turbo, they would seize up with all the carbon and go into limp mode and overboost. pic of turbo's intake side. We had to heat up the cast iron casing and tape with hammer to separate it. Exhaust side. Dirty vanes. Clean vanes.
Golf mk5 1.9 tdi. Egr valve engine management light. Wanting a little advice really. I have engine management light on and in display says emitions garage. I've had code read and it's the egr valve. Now what's better do about it. Take the egr valve off and clean?
12 posts · Joined 2021. #1 · Mar 4, 2021. Hi to all, I have recently bought a T5.1 2012 caravelle. 140 bhp. I believe the EGR is faulty as I've scanned and have several faul codes relating to EGR. I have bought a new genuine EGR valve and cooler and have attempted removal and refit myself. I am currently stuck on the last awkward fixing, t30

Cleaned EGR valve. 31-10-2020, 02:43 PM. Decided to clean/replace EGR valve and pipe ------was surprised with the amount of gunk on the pipe---the EGR valve wasn't too bad. After fitting fired up the engine and EML light was on ---cleared faults P0405 and PO403 ----P0403 came back up but no EML light----decided to clean and spray connector with

I thought doing the EGR delete, ECU tune and intake manifold cleaning would take care of all those issues in one maintenance blitz. I'm not against leaving the EGR valve in place, especially if it doesn't cause intake issues. The assumption these intakes gummed up was the primary reason to explore the EGR delete. I'll second the mucky bit .. did mine about a month ago and it's a filthy job, I found it easier to take the whole lot off with the inlet manifold which i also cleaned and strip it on the bench .. i used oven cleaner and a jetwash to clean it all then when all back together i disabled the EGR from opperating by removing the VAC hose and plugging it,,,,, no need for a blanking plate if
basically it's a simple job. the EGR valve is the round aluminum thing on top-left of the engine, right under cover, facing you as you open the hood. you'll see the air intake hose coming from the pass. side headlight going into the intake; well, the EGR is the valve that the hose leads to. all you have to do is undo the 3 hex bolts holding it
This is the EGR valve in the 1.9 TDI 115 HP WV Sharan engine. The car has driven 270,000 turbo and does not take oil. The best solution is to plug the pipe t Lift the EGR clear from the car. Manoeuver the throttle body around and also withdraw the yellow clip slightly. Unplug the connector and withdraw it from the car. Clean out the area arrowed - use a screwdriver to break it up and a hoover, make sure none goes into the intake, you want it out, not in. Attachments. We used Wynns Diesel EGR Cleaner. Leads to smoother running engine, more power, better fu more. Cleaning EGR valve without dismantling on 2005 1.9tdi 150 pd Seat Leon FR mk1. Identical
The reason for asking is due to the EGR getting choked up on SWMBO's 1.9 tdi. The engine mgmt light comes on, VW want something like £900 for a new one or £200 to clean the old one out and the forums warn that even doing that might leave you with a faulty one.
