HK speakers have orange labels on the magnets, hifi have blue. HK will have a logo on the tweeter covers in the front doors. HK amp will be marked "Harman Kardon" in the trunk (or side panel for verts) all coupe and convertible front door panels are interchangeable.

I would say for $875 it's well worth it. Note that the price is actually more like $1500 since the HK system requires you to get BMW connect/bluetooth. Still a good deal, considering what you could get after market for $1500, but not quite as cheap as just the HK option alone would suggest.

I upgraded my f30 hifi and love it. EVERYTHING is plug'n'play. I think they now make subs and amps as well. This is probably a simpler option. It might even outperform the HK system. I know the treble in my car is much better. BMW really went down hill on speakers from the e90 to f30 IMO. 2014 328d xDrive.

The major differences between the HK and Standard system are not that great. -The HK system gets 6x9" subs in the back deck powered by a separate amplifier. -The amplifier for the interior speakers get about 5 watts per channel output than the standard amp.

Hi there am a new member to this forum,i own a BMW E46 M3 have had the car now for 2 years ever since a bought it the harman karden subs have never worked,i have looked at the wiring to the best of my knowledge to make sure that it is not anything obvious like a broken wire and seems sound,any help
